What is Woke Rating?

Woke Rating (also known as Woke Meter) is a transparent media classification system designed to help parents, gamers, and viewers quickly understand both age-appropriateness and the presence of ideological content often referred to as "woke".

It combines traditional content warnings (violence, language, sexual content) with a specific WokeMeter that measures four key ideological dimensions.

Core Philosophy

"We believe families deserve honest information about the values and messages embedded in the entertainment they consume — without hidden agendas."

Two-Part System

1. Age / Supervision Rating E → X
Traditional age guidance with strong parental supervision focus.
2. WokeMeter (F Y O R) 0–3 scale
Measures ideological messaging in four categories.

How to Use the WokeMeter

Answer the short questionnaires (3–6 questions per category). Score each from 0–3 based on intensity and prominence.

F FEMINISM QUESTIONS
  1. Are male characters systematically portrayed as toxic, useless, or inferior?
  2. Does the story promote extreme "girlboss" narratives where women dominate without merit?
  3. Is traditional masculinity criticized or mocked?
  4. Is "patriarchy" or similar terms used negatively as a central message?
  5. Are traditional gender roles attacked or subverted?
Y LGBT / GENDER IDEOLOGY
  1. Are LGBT+ characters or relationships a central focus or romantic subplot?
  2. Does the media include pride flags, pronoun usage, or gender transition themes?
  3. Are historical or canon characters gender-swapped for diversity?
  4. Is there messaging promoting "acceptance" of gender ideology as a moral lesson?
  5. Are non-heterosexual relationships normalized or celebrated prominently?
O ANTI-WEST / VALUES
  1. Is Western civilization, capitalism, or traditional values portrayed negatively?
  2. Are colonizers, white people, or traditional institutions shown as villains by default?
  3. Does the story promote anti-capitalism, socialism, or "fight the system" messaging?
  4. Is the nuclear family or patriotism criticized?
  5. Is there heavy environmental guilt or anti-progress Western messaging?
R ANTI-RELIGION
  1. Are religious figures (priests, believers) portrayed as hypocritical or evil?
  2. Is Christianity, the Bible, or God mocked or attacked?
  3. Is religion presented as the root of all societal problems?
  4. Are religious characters the primary antagonists?
  5. Is atheism or secular "enlightenment" promoted as superior?
Score each category 0–3 based on how prominent and intense the messaging is.
Average the answers or use your judgment for the final number.
